Most people discover us by joining us for one of our Sunday worship services. Going to a new church for the first time can be scary! We know: we’ve all been first-timers before. So, we want to make your first experience as fear-free as possible. Here are some helpful tips:
-
Wear what you want – Jeans and t-shirt? Shorts and sandals? Coat and tie? It doesn’t matter. You’ll mostly see casual wear and our pastor will NOT be wearing a tie! Come comfortably. Get here by car or public transport – We are conveniently located to S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and bus stops. You can exit the Autobahns (103 or 104) and be within 500 meters of our facility. Free parking is available on the street. Directions are available here.
-
Be prepared for a warm welcome – Our ushers will be happy to greet you at our “Welcome Punkt,” give you a program, answer any questions, and direct you to your seat. During the service we greet one another and extend a welcome to our guests. Feel free to remain “anonymous” if you’d like, or receive and complete one of our “Guest Cards” to help us get to know you.
-
We love children – Children are an important part of our church family, so all children join us for the first part of worship. After our first music set and welcome, we have a “Children’s Time” during which our pastor shares a Bible lesson with our children. Afterwards, all the children (2-12) are directed to meet their teachers in the foyer to go to their classes. Feel free to go with your children to meet their teachers or take them to their class.
Babies @ IBCB: Parents with babies are asked to sit with their babies in the back two rows so that they can quickly take their babies to the foyer or cry-room (nursing) when necessary. You can still hear the service and your baby will not disturb others.
-
Enjoy inspiring worship – The music, prayer, and preaching are intended to be uplifting and encouraging. Our Praise Team and Band lead us to celebrate and praise through contemporary music. Our pastor preaches a Christ-centered message from the Bible designed to help us experience and live the Christ-life in the power of God’s Holy Spirit. The whole service lasts about 90 minutes.
-
Meet the pastor after worship – Join the pastor and others in the foyer after worship to say “hello” and to find out more about the church. On all “1st Sundays” we enjoy “Kaffee und Kuchen” in our downstairs fellowship room. You are welcome to join us.
-
Get connected – Once you’ve attended worship you may want to explore ways to “get connected” to our fellowship. Perhaps you’ll want to attend worship a few more times to get to know us and other people. Perhaps you’ll want to join one of our small groups depending upon your availability, life-stage, etc. Pick up a brochure at our “Welcome Punkt” to find out how to “get connected.”
Hopefully, these tips will be helpful. If you have questions or need more information, please, contact the church office.
